Upcoming Night Work

Bolsa Chica and Westminster intersection

Starting week of December 28 Utility investigation, or potholing, will take place at night. The work is expected to take approximately 2-3 weeks.  Some of these activities will be loud.

Night work hours:  9 p.m. – 6 a.m., Monday – Friday

The traffic signal at the intersection will be set to flash.  A flashing traffic signal should be treated as a 4-way stop sign.

Potholing utilities, Westminster Blvd

Current and Upcoming Construction Activities on Westminster Blvd:

Between Bolsa Chica and College St

Excavation will begin once potholing is completed in this segment. If necessary, median, curbs, landscapes, and trees will need to be removed.  They will be replaced after sewer work is completed and restoration takes place.

Day work hours:  8:30 a.m. – 5 p.m., Monday – Friday.  During work hours, Westminster Blvd. will be reduced to one lane in each direction. Please note some activities may occur outside these work hours within the k-rail sections between the hours of 7 a.m. and 7 p.m.

Dates and times are subject to change due to operational factors or inclement weather.

Ongoing Construction

City of Seal Beach – Between Seal Beach Blvd. and Bolsa Chica Rd.

Approximately a 2-miles stretch of sewer pipeline has been installed and paving activities are taking place.  Sections of k-rail will start to be removed.

Project Description:

The project will replace and reconstruct nearly three miles of two 36-inch diameter sewer pipelines on Westminster Boulevard between Seal Beach Boulevard and Rancho Road/Hammon Place in the cities of Seal Beach and Westminster.  Construction began Spring 2020 and will be completed Fall 2022.

This project is within the Western Regional service area.
