Impacts:
- Westbound lane on Westminster Ave. will have temporary closures from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Northbound lane on Seal Beach Blvd. will be closed for the duration of construction.
* Construction activity taking place behind the fencing that has been placed around the perimeter of the work site.
Previous Work:
Night work will be taking place to install k-rail barriers that will close a lane adjacent the pump station for the duration of the construction project.
- Where: Northbound Seal Beach Boulevard and westbound Westminster Avenue, adjacent the pump station
- When: Starting May 22 and lasting approximately 2-3 nights
- Work Hours: Between the hours of 7 p.m. and 6 a.m.
- Impacts:
- Lane closures will be necessary to safely set up the k-rail barriers.
- This work is being done at night to minimime impacts to traffic.
- The two rightmost lanes northbound on Seal Beach Boulevard will be closed to traffic to place k-rail barriers.
- The rightmost lane on westbound Westminster Avenue will be closed to traffic to set up site perimeter fencing.
Project Description
This project will replace the OC San Seal Beach Pump Station located at the corner of Seal Beach Blvd. and Westminster Ave. in the City of Seal Beach. The new station will be upgraded to new local, state, and national codes as well as have enhanced security measures. The new facility will also have an added odor control system installed.
Project Background
The Seal Beach Pump Station was originally constructed in 1972. The pumping systems are aging, regularly clog, lack corrosion protection, and have control systems that are rapidly becoming obsolete, all requiring additional attention from maintenance staff.
Additional Information
The bus stop located in front of the pump station on Seal Beach Blvd. at Westminster Ave. has been removed (see picture below) for the duration of the project. Please visit OCTA for alternative routes.
